नेटफ्लिक्स की डॉक्यूमेंट्री “डोंट डाई: द मैन हू वांट्स टू लिव फॉरएवर” देखने के बाद मुझे एक अजीब सा अनुभव हुआ। यह फिल्म ब्रायन जॉनसन नाम के एक अमीर टेक उद्यमी की कहानी है, जो बुढ़ापे और मौत से लड़ने के लिए अपना सब कुछ दांव पर लगा रहा है।
जॉनसन साहब की जिंदगी देखकर मुझे लगा कि वो किसी साइंस फिक्शन फिल्म के किरदार हैं। हर दिन वो सैकड़ों गोलियां खाते हैं, अजीब-अजीब मशीनों में घंटों बिताते हैं, और अपने बेटे का प्लाज़्मा भी ले लेते हैं। लेकिन फिर मैंने सोचा कि शायद जॉनसन साहब कुछ ऐसा कर रहे हैं जो हम सब चाहते हैं – लंबी और स्वस्थ जिंदगी जीना। बस फर्क इतना है कि उनके पास करोड़ों रुपये हैं जो वो इस पर खर्च कर सकते हैं।
फिल्म में दिखाया गया कि जॉनसन साहब पहले मोटे और उदास थे। लेकिन अब वो फिट और खुश नजर आते हैं। शायद उनकी कोशिशों का कुछ फायदा हुआ है।
मगर मुझे लगता है कि वो कुछ जरूरी चीजें भूल गए हैं। जैसे परिवार और दोस्तों के साथ वक्त बिताना, जिंदगी का मजा लेना। फिल्म के आखिर में जब उनका बेटा कॉलेज जाता है तो वो रो पड़ते हैं। तब मुझे लगा कि शायद उन्हें अहसास हुआ कि सिर्फ लंबी उम्र काफी नहीं है।
कुल मिलाकर ये फिल्म दिलचस्प थी। इसने मुझे सोचने पर मजबूर किया कि हम अपनी सेहत का ख्याल कैसे रखें, लेकिन साथ ही जिंदगी का लुत्फ भी उठाएं। मुझे लगता है कि हमें जॉनसन साहब जैसा पागलपन नहीं करना चाहिए, लेकिन उनसे कुछ सीख जरूर ले सकते हैं – जैसे अच्छी नींद लेना, सही खाना खाना और एक्सरसाइज करना।
